Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus : a Plus Plus for Asia?
As you know, Samsung introduced one year ago the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + . Two smartphones with curved screens and very thin borders. So fine that the slabs no longer measure 5.1 inches and 5.5 inches, but 5.8 and 8.2 inches. A considerable increase in the touch surface, but not necessarily the size of the mobile, since the dimensions of the two phones are relatively comparable to their predecessors. This trend is almost unanimous among all manufacturers: Xiaomi, LG, HTC and certainly soon Apple with the "birthday" version of the iPhone (the one with an OLED screen). now you can buy Samsung Galaxy S8 plus on installment online .
Versions that multiply
Inside these phones, you'll find a solid high-end configuration: QHD + Super AMOLED display, premium octo-core chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage (expandable), 3000 or 3500 mAh battery fast charge , 12 megapixel stabilized photo sensor, 8 megapixel webcam, waterproof metal chassis, retinal and digital fingerprint reader, etc. The Galaxy S8 and S8 + are especially provided. And, like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the two flagships do not integrate the same chipset according to the country: Snapdragon 835 in the United States, Exynos 8895 in the rest of the world. According to the benchmarks, the performances of the two versions seem relatively close.
It seems, however, that another difference is to be noted. And it is much more impacting for the user. According to the Korean electronic daily ET News , an improved version of the Galaxy S8 + would be planned. It would have 6 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB. And its storage space would be multiplied by two, to reach 128 GB. This version would be marketed in Asia only (at least in Korea and certainly in China). It would be sold only in black. And it would be accompanied by the DeX dock (which turns the smartphone into a desktop PC).
Why book it in Asia?
There is something unsettling about this information: we were surprised that Samsung is not taking advantage of the new generation of Galaxy Sx to implement 6 GB of RAM. Because 4 GB, with Touchwiz, Bixby, Android Nougat, shooting in 4K or virtual reality, the RAM will be quickly consumed. This will automatically affect the fluidity of the system. A fluidity that Western consumers would have appreciated as much as Asians.
So why book it in Asia? And even if it causes an extra cost for the European or American consumer, it is obvious that some would be willing to pay the price for it. We understand that Samsung wants to improve its flagship in countries where it must at all costs (re) conquer the hearts of users, such as China or Korea. But are not there also in other parts of the world?
